How it Works
CHOC International is extraordinarily efficient and fast at matching hiring firms and job seekers. Follow these simple guidelines and suggestions -- and use CHOC International to your easiest and best advantage.
For HIRING FIRMS:
Are you a firm seeking to fill one or more staffing positions? Looking for the best qualified professionals with technical, design or administrative skills? CHOC International will help you to find precisely those applicants that you seek. When you fill out your digital job requisition form, be sure to:
- Specify the salary and, if relevant, health coverage, relocation pay and any other perks or benefits of the position you're looking to fill. CHOC will use this information as criteria to match your job opening with the specific expertise and skill sets of prospective employees.
- Specify the experience by types of projects and/or skills that you seek in your applicants. This is critical in order to narrow the field of potential employees as much as possible -- and to increase the chances of making the best match for your firm.
- Enter as many variables as you wish. The more particular your request, the better the match CHOC will seek from our database of applicants. Please be sure to designate all required and desired skill sets that job seekers must offer. You can revise or update your job description any time. By changing the skills and criteria you seek, you'll match up with more or different applicants.
- Indicate whether or not each skill is absolutely mandatory to the position or simply "a nice extra." This added layer of specification will help CHOC to find the most perfect candidates for you from our pool of talent.
- Indicate if applicants must be from your state. Likewise, indicate whether or not out of state -- or international -- applicants are acceptable.
- Use the MY CHOC page to build a convenient, easy-to-access summary of all the jobs you wish to fill along with the matching contenders for them. You can always add new contenders as CHOC generates them. And CHOC comparison charts will help you to select the best candidate(s) as well as to refine your candidate lists. In addition, the MY CHOC page lets you store a list of contenders whom you might want to utilize for temporary positions, work-at-home situations or for projects that might arise in the future.
- Be proactive with CHOC. Enter new skills and categories that you would like to see added to our existing database pool. CHOC is always evolving, and we always look for ways to serve client firms better. Tell us what you want. We're listening!
For JOB SEEKERS:
Does your dream job exist? Want to put your unique technical, design or administrative skills, experience and goals to work in a particular locale or in a firm that's all you could hope for? Let CHOC International help you find your perfect job! In fact, CHOC's unique job matching software makes the process quicker and easier than ever. Take a few moments to register (it's FREE for job seekers) now. Then complete your digital blueprint. In essence, you'll indicate precisely what you have to offer and what you want from a job. Just follow the guidelines that are specified right here. Use them to maximize the power of CHOC to help find your dream job!
- The first screen will ask you to provide your contact information and to select a user name and password. Your user name and password are essential for managing and updating your CHOC digital blueprint over time.
- Now you're ready to create your digital blueprint. This is the part of your profile where you provide a real "personal touch." Of utmost importance, indicate your education, business experience and all the particulars that help to define precisely the position that you seek. Be sure to indicate all the states or countries where you wish to work. Also, call attention to any papers or articles you have published, advanced degrees, awards and any special licenses or distinctions which you may offer. Include as much information as you wish. The point is to define precisely what you want in a position -- and what you have to offer to a prospective employer.
- Continue to customize your profile by adding your areas of expertise. Use this screen to tell prospective employers precisely what types of projects you have worked on. If you offer legitimate experience in any of the industries or project types listed on this page, be sure to indicate each one.
- Every entry you make can help to increase the number of potential employers who will contact you later.
- Now, indicate your skill sets. This is where you showcase the particular talents and skills that you bring to a job. Enter relevant design concepts, management and technical skills that you possess as well as the precise types of projects that you have worked on. Your skill sets will help potential employers to identify and contact you when the right job presents itself.
- What kind of work environment is right for you? In this section you'll detail precisely what you want from a job. Tell CHOC where you want to work, whom you want to work for, and, if relevant, whom you DON'T want to work for. Are you seeking full-time employment? Part-time? Are you offering your services on a consultative basis? Let potential employers know exactly what you want -- and let CHOC International match you up!
- Last, but certainly not least, enter your salary and benefit requirements. If relevant, indicate any commutation requirements as well.
Once your customized profile is completed, we'll enter it into the CHOC International database of job seekers. From that point, it's just a matter of time before you might be contacted by potential employers!
Be sure to update your profile whenever you add new skills, experience or areas of expertise. It's vitally important that you keep all of your information (including contact information) current. As your unique experience and capabilities grow, or if the parameters of your dream job change, you'll want those potential employers to know all about it.
Use the MY CHOC page to customize a summary for all of your CHOC activities. It enables you to see which firms have looked at your digital blueprint, and which are considering you for a position. MY CHOC is also the place where you'll receive emails from prospective employers.
Be proactive with CHOC. Feel free to suggest new skills and categories that you think should be added to our database. We're always looking to make CHOC even better for job seekers like you.
Remember:
Prospective employers are always looking, so Keep your information as current as possible. Update your portfolio and your references on a regular basis.
